Thing #13

I read the "23 Things" information on Del.icio.us and viewed the video tutorial. I explored the different links and the Learning 2.0 resources. I noted the tags, the number of users who saved the site and the time elapsed or date when the site was saved by someone. This gives an indication of how "popular" a site is. The features that interest me are tagging and the ability to access my bookmarks from any computer. The tags definitely would be very useful as keywords in doing research.

Thing #12

I kept rolling round and round with Rollyo. For some reason it was difficult for me. After I had created some searchrolls, I needed to delete one. I tried the links to EDIT and MANAGE . . . but there is no delete button anywhere that I could see, nor any other means that I could figure out. I kept circling around.

Here's the link to my searchrolls: http://www.rollyo.com/rainbow
I'm trying to get rid of that first Gardening Fun on the list; the one with the "By: 321321321."

Can someone give me a definitive answer on how to do it? Thank you very much.

Thing #11

For the Web 2.0 awards exercise I explored Wayfaring, a mapping tool. I found maps showing favorite spots, homes, etc. Some users have created travelogues, showing their route plus videos or pictures of their trip.

For library-related applications this can be used in mapping events, library locations, users, conference locations, etc. If the PLA Symposium locations would be mapped out, all the markers would be in Chicago, except now San Jose would be included in the map and show one marker. As the Symposium gets held in other places, markers would be added showing those locations.

Thing #10

I've been exploring around in this (Week 5) exercise for a while now but somehow when I thought I was just about ready to post something, I'd run out of time. I kept starting all over again. I need to do this right NOW, before I lose it again. The image generator I used was ImageChef.
