Thing #17

I added my blog to the the favorites wiki.

A "tips"and "mentoring" wiki would be great way to provide information to new (and not so new) librarians and staff. I might use this as a tool to create a collaborative document with other team members.

Thing #16

I looked at several examples of wikis and saw a variety of ways that they are used. It appears that any shared information or collaborative writing endeavor can be "wikified." The applications that interest me most are library instruction wikis and reference wikis.

Thing #15

To better bibliographic services . . .

This is a great direction for Library 2.0. It expands both the pool of resources and the means to deliver information. It simplifies and unifies what is generally seen as complicated and segmented.

Thing #14

The turtle will continue to drag itself towards the finish line.

I did some exploring in Technorati. It's overwhelming. There's so much. It's also scary - - how people write all sorts of personal stuff in language that one might not particularly care for. Of course, there are good interesting posts too.

Tags certainly help to keep the posts you get to within topics you are interested in. However, an item could be assigned an unlimited variation in tags by different taggers, not necessarily what you yourself would use.
