Week 3 - #5, #6, #7

Week 3
#5 & # 6 - Flickr, Flickr tools, tips for beginners, public domain images, mosaics, mashups . . . All very interesting. I am still going round and round looking at what others have done. I could get lost in this forever . . .

I created this mosaic from my own photographs using a third party tool. BTW, anyone interested in flowers, plants, and gardening in general would find great information from the Master Gardeners of Santa Clara County. They take calls on their hotline (408) 282-3105, Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Questions are also accepted online.

#7 - About technology: I come from a time and place where technology meant clunky typewriters and mimeograph duplicating machines (What ???). Try writing a thesis with footnotes using those machines!!! (I'm really dating myself here . . . Oh, well . . .)

Many "Web-ers" are zooming past me at this Learning 2.0 marathon but I have set my goal to get to the finish line - - not necessarily with flying colors but with at least a basic understanding of, appreciation for, and competence with these new-fangled technologies.

I appreciate having this opportunity for guided learning. Thank you Virtual Services Team!

Somewhere . . .

Does a rainbow lead to a pot of gold?
Is it a symbol of a promise?
. . . the beautiful interplay of rain and sun?

With those thoughts as attitude enhancers,
I will go through these learning 2.0 exercises:
Searching for treasures - - nuggets of wisdom,
Holding on to the promise of life-long learning,
And incorporating play into the learning process.

***** ***** *****
Week 1
Thing 1 - I read the Learning 2.0 blog and listened to the podcast.
Thing 2 - Of the 7 1/2 habits, as I accept responsibility for my own learning, I need to learn to play and make it fun. The thoughts at the beginning of this blog and the footer are my attempts to do that.

Week 2
Thing 3 - I have set up my own blog and hopefully I can get this posted.
Thing 4 - If I do this right, I should have my blog registered.

No rain, no rainbow.
